Hands on Project

The idea  was to encourage  visitors to create  brick clay panels which could in theory make up a frieze along the front of the building, or individual inset panels across the paved terrace to work like decoy ducks prepopulating it to encourage its use . Given a basic format to work from we had a lot of participants and a wonderful range of pieces. We used raw brick clay blocks – supplied and fired by Ibstock, plus coloured slips, stencils + wooden stamps.
A good time was had by all thanks to a huge amount of help from the younger members of the Potters festival team.
